TH Automotive Manufacturing to Officially Launch Vehicle Assembly Plant in Cambodia in 2026
AKP Phnom Penh, August 18, 2026 --
TH Automotive Manufacturing Co., Ltd. plans to officially inaugurate its vehicle assembly plant in Cambodia later this year, marking a further expansion of investment in the country’s automotive manufacturing sector.
The development was revealed during a meeting between Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Mr. Norm Tong, Chairman of TH Automotive Manufacturing Co., Ltd., at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh on Aug. 18.
During the meeting, Mr. Norm Tong expressed his deep appreciation to the Royal Government and relevant ministries and institutions for their continued support and facilitation of the company’s operations in Cambodia.
He briefed the Prime Minister on the company’s progress, noting that TH Automotive Manufacturing has exclusive distribution rights for GAC and Chevrolet vehicles in Cambodia and has expanded its investment to establish an assembly plant for the two brands in the country.
The plant has been completed and recently commenced preliminary operations. It currently employs around 250 workers, all of whom have received technical training to ensure the production of vehicles that meet standards of quality and safety while remaining affordable for Cambodian consumers.
Mr. Norm Tong also invited Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet to preside over the official inauguration of the vehicle assembly plant at an appropriate time in 2026.
In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet welcomed the company’s progress and expressed confidence that its operations would continue to grow.
The Prime Minister highly valued the company’s continued expansion of investment, stressing that such investment contributes significantly to job creation, technology transfer to Cambodian workers, and the availability of quality, safe and reasonably priced products.
He also highlighted the Royal Government’s policies and support mechanisms aimed at maintaining a resilient and competitive investment environment in Cambodia.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Samdech Thipadei encouraged the company to explore opportunities to partner with local companies and enterprises to supply automotive components and equipment, thereby creating greater value for the national economy.
