Cambodian, Malaysian Army Chiefs Hold First Virtual Bilateral Talks

The Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army held a virtual meeting Tuesday with H.E. Gen. Tan Sri Azhan, Chief of Army of Malaysia marking the first official talks between the two army chiefs to strengthen bilateral military ties.
During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress of army-to-army cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to deepening friendship, mutual trust, and practical joint activities. The collaboration will continue to be guided by the Terms of Reference (TOR) on bilateral cooperation signed by the two armies in 2025.
H.E. Gen. Mao Sophan, Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army, expressed gratitude for Malaysia’s key support regarding regional peace initiatives and its deployment of observers to promote stability and confidence-building along the border.
The two commanders exchanged views on future cooperation strategies and agreed to maintain close coordination to further expand defence ties between Cambodia and Malaysia.
