AKP Phnom Penh, July 28, 2026 -- Cambodian Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology H.E. Thor Chetha led a delegation to Finland to examine cutting-edge weather forecasting, climate monitoring, and automated observation technologies.

During the official visit, the delegation met on July 28 with Finnish government officials and representatives from leading environmental technology firms, including world-renowned weather instruments manufacturer Vaisala, to discuss potential technical cooperation, knowledge transfer, and digital integration for water management.

H.E. Thor Chetha noted the delegation sought to learn from international experience and explore how the company's technologies could contribute to enhancing Cambodia's national meteorological services.

H.E. Thor Chetha encouraged Vaisala to participate in upcoming national development projects through transparent and competitive procurement processes.

He emphasised that future collaborations should prioritise knowledge transfer, local capacity building, and ongoing technical support to ensure the long-term sustainability of Cambodia's national infrastructure.
