Cambodia, Vietnam Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthen Traditional Cooperation as Good Neighbours

Cambodia and Vietnam have expressed satisfaction with the positive progress of their bilateral relations and cooperation over the past nearly 60 years and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening and expanding traditional cooperation as good neighbours.
The commitment was made on Tuesday morning during a meeting between Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and H.E. Trinh Van Quyet, Member of the Politburo and Head of the Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh.
During the meeting, H.E. Trinh Van Quyet praised Cambodia’s rapid development across various sectors and expressed confidence that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, Cambodia would continue to achieve greater progress and accomplishments.
He also highly valued the remarkable development of bilateral relations and cooperation over the past nearly six decades, expressing confidence that the traditional friendship and close neighbourly ties between the two countries would continue to grow stronger, more stable, and long-lasting.
H.E. Trinh Van Quyet underlined that the Vietnamese Government and the Communist Party of Vietnam would continue promoting the implementation of cooperation agreements reached by the top leaders of both countries to ensure fruitful outcomes in line with the agreed direction.
In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet congratulated Vietnam on its rapid economic growth under the leadership of the Vietnamese Government and the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The Prime Minister highly appreciated the progress in bilateral ties and expressed satisfaction with the strong relations between the two states, parties, and peoples. He also highlighted the nearly 60-year history of bilateral relations, noting that the two countries had overcome many challenges together.
In this spirit, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of further enhancing relations between the two nations and emphasised that the longstanding bilateral cooperation should continue to be nurtured and expanded through the spirit of solidarity among the younger generations of both countries.
The two sides also discussed advancing cooperation in key sectors, including politics, economy, trade and investment, defence and security, culture and tourism, as well as infrastructure connectivity.
