Cambodia Hosts Business Networking Reception to Expand Access to European Markets
AKP Phnom Penh, October 20, 2026 --
Cambodia hosted a business networking reception on Oct. 19 alongside its participation in SIAL Paris 2026, aiming to expand access for Cambodian products to European Union (EU) markets.
H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, presided over the reception, which was jointly organised by the Ministry of Commerce and the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in France.
The event was also attended by H.E. Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; H.E. Luy David, Ambassador of Cambodia to France; representatives of relevant institutions; and approximately 150 business representatives from Cambodia, France and other European countries.
The reception was an important side event held in conjunction with Cambodia’s participation in SIAL Paris 2026, an international food industry trade exhibition, through its national pavilion.
It aimed to strengthen and expand business relations between Cambodia, France and other European countries, promote the exchange of information and experience, explore investment opportunities, and foster new business partnerships.
The event also sought to raise Cambodia’s profile, enhance the competitiveness of Cambodian products, promote trade and expand international market access for the country’s high-potential products, particularly rice and other agricultural goods.
In addition, the reception featured the launch of the cookbook GI Journey: Flavours of Cambodia’s Culinary and a showcase of Cambodian cuisine to promote the country’s culinary heritage, cooking traditions and distinctive culinary identity.
These activities also provided an opportunity to introduce Geographical Indication (GI) products and other high-potential Cambodian goods to international business partners and the public.
The initiatives aimed to increase the value of Cambodian products, raise awareness of their quality and distinctive characteristics, and strengthen their international recognition and reputation in global markets.
