AKP Phnom Penh, October 19, 2026 --
Battambang Provincial Governor H.E. Sok Lou on Sunday delivered emergency relief supplies on behalf of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet to 150 vulnerable families affected by recent flash floods in Samlot district.
The assistance, allocated through the Cambodia Food Reserve System (CFRS), was distributed to affected households across seven communes: Tasanh, Meanchey, Sung, Samlot, Kampong Lpov, Tatork and O'Samril.
Speaking at the distribution ceremony, H.E. Sok Lou emphasised that under the leadership of the former Prime Minister and current Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and continuing under Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, the Royal Government of Cambodia remains steadfast in prioritising the well-being of citizens, particularly during hardships and natural disasters.
The Governor urged local residents to maintain proper sanitation and health precautions during the flood recovery phase.
He advised families to consume clean or boiled water, ensure proper care for the elderly and young children, remain vigilant against venomous animals and drowning hazards, and guard against dengue fever.
H.E. Sok Lou expressed his gratitude to local authorities and emergency personnel for their prompt intervention and effective management of the flood situation, which prevented any loss of life.
In addition, the Governor reminded eligible citizens to participate in the ongoing voter list revision and registration process for 2026. The 55-day registration period, which began on Oct. 7, runs through Nov. 30 across all communes and Sangkats.
He encouraged registered voters to verify their personal details and complete the required biometric updates, including photo capture and thumbprint verification, at their designated commune centres.
