Cambodia, India Review Progress of Tourism Cooperation Projects
AKP Phnom Penh, October 9, 2026 -- The Ministry of Tourism (MoT) and the Embassy of India in Cambodia have reviewed the implementation progress of three Quick Impact Projects (QIPs) aimed at developing ecotourism communities and discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral tourism cooperation in the coming year.
The review took place during a meeting held in Phnom Penh on Oct. 9 between H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, and H.E. Vanlalvawna Bawitlung, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Cambodia, at the Ministry of Tourism.
During the meeting, the Indian Ambassador reaffirmed the Government of India's continued support for the Ministry of Tourism in ensuring the successful completion of all three projects under the QIPs framework, which aims to support the development of ecotourism communities in Cambodia.
In response, H.E. Huot Hak expressed his sincere gratitude to the Government and people of India for their continued support and assistance to Cambodia in various sectors, particularly tourism and ecotourism development.
The three projects comprise the Enhancement of Ecotourism Activities in Phat Sanday Ecotourism Community in Kampong Thom province; the Enhancement of Ecotourism Activities in Toul Poan Tali Boeung Sneah Community in Prey Veng province; and the Development of a Mobile Application to Promote Tourism and Ecotourism Communities.
The mobile application is intended to promote tourism destinations and products offered by tourism and ecotourism communities across the country under the management of the Ministry of Tourism.
