Cambodia, Myanmar Reach Four Agreements to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation
AKP Phnom Penh, September 11, 2026 --
The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar have signed four documents aimed at further strengthening the cooperation between the two countries in key areas.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and Myanmar President H.E. U Min Aung Hlaing, following their bilateral meeting at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh on Friday afternoon.
The four signed documents include:
1. Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar for the Elimination of Double Taxation with Respect to Taxes on Income and the Prevention of Tax Evasion and Avoidance.
2. Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on the Reciprocal Promotion and Protection of Investments.
3. Amendment to the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Ministry of Culture, Hotels and Tourism of the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
4. Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on Media and Information Cooperation.
H.E. U Min Aung Hlaing arrived in Cambodia this morning for a two-day State Visit, at the invitation of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia.
