AKP Phnom Penh, September 11, 2026 -- The Russian Navy’s training ship Perekop of the Baltic Fleet, carrying 391 crew members, docked at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port this morning for a two-day unofficial port call.

The 138-metre-long and 18-metre-wide vessel, with a draft of 6 metres, was warmly welcomed upon arrival by Rear Admiral In Sokhemara, Deputy Commander of Ream Naval Base, and other senior Cambodian naval officers, as well as Ambassador of Russia to Cambodia H.E. Anatoly Borovik.

According to a press release, during the port call, the ship’s command is scheduled to pay protocol visits to Cambodian civil and military officials.

Russian sailors and cadets will also visit tourist attractions in Sihanoukville and Phnom Penh and play a football match with their Cambodian counterparts.

Meanwhile, personnel of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, as well as teachers and students of the Russian Embassy School, will have an opportunity to tour the Russian training vessel.

Following a farewell ceremony on Sept. 12, the Perekop will depart from Sihanoukville Autonomous Port.

The Russian training ship last visited Sihanoukville in November 2019.
