AKP Phnom Penh, August 11, 2026 -- The ASEAN Observer Team in Cambodia (AOT-KH) has continued their visit to Techo Morakot Primary School located in Techo Morakot village, Morakot commune, Choam Ksan district, Preah Vihear province, for observation, verification and reporting.

The visit, which began at 10:20 a.m on Tuesday under the coordination of the Cambodian Liaison Group (CLG), was led by the Head of Mission (HOM) of AOT-KH from the Philippines.

According to a press release issued by the Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia, Techo Morakot Primary School is an educational facility serving children in the local community.

The Ministry stated that in December 2025, the school was severely attacked by the Thai military through aerial bombardments by F-16 fighter jets and 155mm artillery strikes targeting the civilian site.

The attacks caused near-total destruction and damage to the school buildings, equipment and infrastructure, leaving the children unable to return to school to this day, it added.

The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence reaffirmed their firm, sincere and unwavering commitment to fully and faithfully respect and implement the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) on Dec. 27, 2025, the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand on Oct. 26, 2025, and all other relevant agreements.

The commitment aims to ensure rapid recovery, restore normalcy, and promote long-lasting peace and stability.
