Lieutenant General Pov Heng, Deputy Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army and Commander of Military Region 4, received and held a working discussion with the ASEAN Observer Team in Cambodia (AOT-KH) on Monday at the headquarters of Military Region 4 in Siem Reap province.

The AOT delegation was led by Commodore GLENN Z DIZON, Head of Mission of the AOT from the Philippines to Cambodia, under the facilitation of the Cambodia Liaison Group (CLG).

On the occasion, Lieutenant General Pov Heng warmly welcomed the AOT under the leadership of the Philippines upon its arrival at the Military Region 4 headquarters. He expressed his profound appreciation for the team’s steadfast commitment and continued efforts to promote regional peace, stability and confidence-building under the ASEAN framework.

The Commander of Military Region 4 also briefed the AOT delegation on the latest developments regarding the Cambodia-Thailand border situation.

For his part, Commodore GLENN Z DIZON expressed sincere appreciation to Military Region 4 for its continued facilitation and for creating favourable conditions for the AOT to carry out its missions of observing, verifying and reporting on the situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border following the entry into force of the ceasefire.

He reaffirmed the team’s strong commitment to fulfilling its vital mission of observing, verifying and reporting on the actual situation along the border.

Cambodia continues to fully support and strengthen the AOT’s role in ensuring the implementation of the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand, with the aim of promoting transparency, building mutual trust and protecting civilian lives. Cambodia also welcomes friendly countries to deploy observers or participate in peace-building efforts.

The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence reaffirmed Cambodia’s firm, sincere and unwavering commitment to fully and faithfully respecting and implementing the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand of Oct. 26, 2025, the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) of Dec. 27, 2025, and all other relevant agreements.

The commitment aims to facilitate rapid recovery, restore normalcy and contribute to lasting peace and stability along the Cambodia-Thailand border.
