Cambodia Appoints World Cyclist Tiv Dararith as Tourism Goodwill Ambassador
AKP Phnom Penh, July 26, 2026 —
The Ministry of Tourism has appointed Mr. Tiv Dararith, a Cambodian world cyclist, as a Tourism Goodwill Ambassador to help promote Cambodia’s tourism potential and enhance the Kingdom’s positive image internationally.
H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, received Mr. Tiv Dararith and his colleagues for a courtesy call and working discussion on July 25 at the Ministry, during which the cyclist shared his experiences from an extraordinary cycling expedition across Asia and Europe before concluding his journey in Southern Africa.
The expedition covered approximately 58,000 kilometres across 40 countries over two years, or 730 days.
H.E. Huot Hak expressed his sincere appreciation and admiration for Mr. Tiv Dararith’s exceptional talent, determination, extensive experience, perseverance and patriotism. The Minister commended his efforts to promote Cambodia’s positive image around the world through his cycling mission, while also actively contributing to humanitarian and social activities.
On the occasion, the Minister reaffirmed the Ministry of Tourism’s warm welcome and support for initiatives that contribute to promoting Cambodia’s tourism potential, particularly those that bring the “Wonder of Cambodia” to the global stage.
H.E. Huot Hak also recalled that on July 9, 2026, he expressed support for a motorcycle expedition from Cambodia to the Esposizione Internazionale delle Due Ruote (EICMA), the world’s leading international motorcycle exhibition, scheduled to take place from Nov. 5 to 8, 2026 in Milan, Italy. The mission is being organised through cooperation between Calypso Motors and Chip Mong Group.
According to the Ministry, such initiatives and missions make meaningful contributions to promoting Cambodia’s reputation internationally, strengthening the tourism sector and encouraging greater investment in the Kingdom.
The Ministry of Tourism reaffirmed that it will continue to encourage and support initiatives and missions that promote the “Wonder of Cambodia” to the world while bringing the world to Cambodia.
