China Supports Cambodia’s Socio-Economic Development, Reaffirms President Xi Jinping

Chinese President H.E. Xi Jinping has reaffirmed China's support for Cambodia's socio-economic development during a bilateral meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet in Shanghai.
The meeting took place on Friday afternoon, on the sidelines of Prime Minister Hun Manet's working visit to China and his participation in the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, held from July 15 to 17.
During the meeting, President Xi highly valued the strength of the Cambodia-China relationship and the two countries' "ironclad friendship," stressing that China remains committed to supporting Cambodia's socio-economic development.
He also reiterated China's commitment to deepening cooperation with Cambodia by advancing the Diamond Cooperation Framework and accelerating the implementation of the "Industrial and Technological Corridor" and the "Fish and Rice Corridor" to ensure sustained mutual development.
In response, Prime Minister Hun Manet congratulated the Chinese government on the successful organisation of the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government and people for their continued support and assistance, which have contributed significantly to Cambodia's socio-economic development, infrastructure construction, and improvements in the livelihoods of the Cambodian people.
Samdech Thipadei also reiterated Cambodia's unwavering adherence to the One-China Policy, affirming that Cambodia considers issues related to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Xizang (Tibet), and Xinjiang as China's internal affairs.
He further commended the continued progress of Cambodia-China relations under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and their enduring "ironclad friendship," noting that both countries are working together to build an All-Weather Cambodia-China Community with a Shared Future in the New Era.
The two leaders also exchanged views on future initiatives and directions to further deepen cooperation in key sectors, including political and diplomatic relations, economy and trade, connectivity infrastructure, electricity, artificial intelligence and the digital economy, agriculture, as well as defence and security.
Before concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Hun Manet briefed President Xi on the latest developments regarding the Cambodia-Thailand border situation and reaffirmed Cambodia's commitment to resolving border issues peacefully, based on international law and in accordance with existing conventions, treaties, and agreements between Cambodia and Thailand.
