Ministry of Information, Indian Embassy Sign MoU to Launch Two Quick Impact Projects
AKP Phnom Penh, July 10, 2026 -- Cambodia’s Ministry of Information and the Embassy of India this afternoon reached a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement two Quick Impact Projects aimed at supporting education and improving rural livelihoods.
The MoU was signed by Minister of Information H.E. Neth Pheaktra and Indian Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Vanlalvawna Bawitlung.
According to a Ministry of Information’s press release, the agreement covers two key initiatives. The first is a bicycle distribution project to support students in disadvantaged communities, while the second is a beekeeping project to help improve the livelihoods of vulnerable farming households.
The projects are expected to contribute to poverty reduction, promote education in remote rural areas, build capacity and life skills, strengthen farmers’ resilience to climate change, and support the economic, social, environmental, and infrastructure development of rural communities. They will also encourage community participation in a transparent, equitable, and accountable manner.
H.E. Neth Pheaktra described the agreement as an important step in the Government of India’s continued support for the Ministry of Information and its efforts to address the challenges facing local communities.
