Cambodia and South Korea Strengthen Intellectual Property Cooperation

Cambodia and the Republic of Korea (ROK) reaffirmed their commitment to deepening economic and technological ties during a high-level bilateral meeting held in Geneva, Switzerland on July 6.
H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Cambodian Minister of Commerce, and H.E. Kim Yong Sun, Minister of Intellectual Property of South Korea, held talks on the sidelines of an international forum in Geneva.
H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul expressed Cambodia's gratitude for South Korea’s long-standing technical assistance in developing the Kingdom’s IP ecosystem.
Both sides reviewed the positive progress made under the existing Memorandum of Understanding on Intellectual Property Cooperation and the 2025-2027 IP Work Plan, particularly in the areas of legal and institutional development, capacity building, digital transformation, trademark administration, IP protection, and invention education.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional cooperation under the ASEAN-Republic of Korea framework and welcomed continued collaboration in implementing future ASEAN intellectual property initiatives.
