Education Ministry Plans French Language Teaching Video Series
AKP Phnom Penh, June 24, 2026 -- Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport is planning to produce a series of instructional videos on French language teaching methods as part of efforts to improve the quality of French language education and promote digital learning.
The initiative was discussed during a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron on June 23, with the participation of senior ministry officials and relevant stakeholders.
Following the discussions, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron instructed the working group to continue collaborating closely with educational experts to ensure the video production process is well-structured, systematic, and capable of delivering high-quality educational content.
The Minister also emphasised the importance of reviewing data and statistics from bilingual education programmes to serve as a foundation for developing clear and effective French-language teaching materials and textbooks.
In addition, he called for the selection of highly qualified and experienced teachers with strong pedagogical skills to contribute to the development and adaptation of lesson content, with the aim of enhancing both teaching quality and learning outcomes.
According to the Ministry of Education, the planned video series is intended to promote the study and use of the French language among students, university learners, and the wider public.
The project is also expected to strengthen learners’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through lessons that are clear, easy to understand, and practical to apply.
Furthermore, the videos will serve as valuable digital learning resources, supporting both classroom instruction and independent learning in line with Cambodia’s ongoing digital transformation in education.
The Ministry believes that the initiative will contribute to improving French language proficiency while expanding access to quality learning materials through digital technology.
