Traffic Access to Terrace of Elephants Temporarily Closed for WAGGGS World Conference Closing Ceremony
AKP Phnom Penh, June 17, 2026 --
The APSARA National Authority has announced a temporary traffic closure at the Terrace of Elephants in Angkor Thom to facilitate the closing ceremony of the 39th World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) World Conference.
According to the announcement issued on Wednesday, access to and from the Terrace of Elephants will be temporarily suspended on the afternoon of June 19, 2026, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
The measure is intended to ensure security, safety, and smooth traffic management for high-ranking national and international delegates attending the event.
Despite the temporary closure, the APSARA National Authority stated that national and international visitors will still be able to enter and exit Angkor Thom through designated alternative routes, as outlined in the official traffic map.
The authority called on ministries, institutions, local authorities, travel agencies, tour guide associations, tourists, and the public to take note of the arrangement and cooperate to support the smooth conduct of the event.
Cambodia is hosting the 39th WAGGGS World Conference and the 42nd Annual Meeting of The Olave Baden-Powell Society (OB-PS) in Siem Reap province from June 14 to 19, under the theme “We See, We Care, We Act.”
