Kampong Som City Raid: 26 Foreigners Held in Online Scam Villa, No Passports Found

Cambodian authorities have detained 26 foreign nationals after raiding a rented villa in Kampong Som city used for an alleged online scam operation, officials said Wednesday.
The June 2 raid was led by Governor Noun Bunthol, with coordination from deputy prosecutor Kang Thyrem. Officers targeted a villa near the “Spean Tracheak Chet” area in Koky village, Sangkat Bit Trang.
Among those arrested were 23 Vietnamese and three Chinese nationals, including three women. None had valid passports.
Seized items included 11 laptops, 20 mobile phones, two automobiles, and one motorcycle.
The 26 suspects, along with the confiscated electronic devices and vehicles, have been transferred to the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Police Headquarters. Investigations are ongoing as authorities initiate legal proceedings and further questioning.
