DPM PRAK Sokhonn to Attend High-level Open Debate of UN Security Council and Related Meetings
AKP Phnom Penh, May 22, 2026 -- Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E. PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, will lead a high-level delegation to attend the UN Security Council High-Level Open Debate, to be held on May 26 in New York, the United States of America.
Convened by China in its capacity as the rotating President of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the high-level meeting will be conducted under the theme "Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter and Strengthening the UN-Centred International System."
According to a press release issued this morning by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the debate will be chaired by H.E. WANG YI, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, who will also deliver opening remarks.
While in New York, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister is expected to participate in related side events and also hold separate bilateral meetings with his counterparts from other countries to further strengthen bilateral relations, advance cooperation, and exchange views on various issues of mutual interest and common concern.
