Cambodia to Launch Official Websites for All 25 Municipal & Provinces to Strengthen News Reach & National Database
AKP Phnom Penh, May 20, 2026 --
Cambodia’s Ministry of Information will establish official websites for all 25 municipal and provincial information departments, a move aimed at boosting the dissemination of official news and building a unified national database, according to Information Minister H.E. Neth Pheaktra.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of a two-day training course on “Website Usage and Protection” on Tuesday, Minister H.E. Neth Pheaktra said the platforms would act as secure digital repositories for local departments to store documents, news, and data. The initiative is part of a broader national push to centralise data management, streamline information flow, and ensure easy access nationwide.
“Creating these websites is a crucial step toward advancing digital technology adoption and modernising our official media framework to be more timely, rapid, and effective,” the minister said.
He added that the new sites would become the primary official channels for broadcasting news, public announcements, government activities, and public services directly to citizens.
The training session, held at the Ministry’s Media Training Centre, drew 112 information officials from both central and provincial levels.
H.E. Neth Pheaktra urged provincial offices to build robust websites to secure their digital footprints, noting that the platforms would function as vital data warehouses—guaranteeing both security and accessibility.
