Cambodia’s Cashew Exports Value US$1.44 Billion in First Four Months of 2026
AKP Phnom Penh, May 20, 2026 --
Cambodia exported 831,179 tonnes of raw cashew nuts between January and April of 2026, a year-on-year increase of 24 percent, generating an estimated US$1.44 billion, according to an export data released on May 20 by the Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC).
The export growth has been largely attributed to proactive support measures introduced by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Commune-level agricultural extension staff were deployed to work directly with farmers, helping them assess climate-related risks and adapt farming practices to changing weather conditions.
Mr. Silot Uon, CAC’s President, urged caution over the sector’s outlook, noting that while the first-quarter performance was encouraging, it remained too early to determine whether the positive trend would continue throughout the year given ongoing climate uncertainties.
He added that sustained cooperation between government agencies, industry organisations and farmers would be crucial to ensuring long-term resilience and continued growth in Cambodia’s cashew sector.
