AKP Phnom Penh, May 17, 2026 —
Cambodia’s tourism potential and the “Green Season Cambodia” campaign were highlighted during the launch of the “EU – Here with You” campaign organised by the European Union Delegation to Cambodia at Chaktomuk Walk Street in Phnom Penh.
The event was attended by H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, H.E. Igor Driesmans, EU Ambassador to Cambodia, H.E. Huot Hay, Deputy Governor representing Phnom Penh Governor H.E. Khuong Sreng, along with officials from relevant institutions, national and international guests, and members of the public.
The programme aimed to showcase the strong strategic partnership and close cooperation between Cambodia and the EU, while reflecting the EU’s continued support for Cambodia through youth engagement, cultural exchanges, tourism, arts, and creative activities.
Speaking at the event, H.E. Huot Hak underlined that tourism remains a priority sector and a key pillar of Cambodia’s economy under the Royal Government’s Pentagon Strategy – Phase 1. He noted that Cambodia continues to attract visitors from around the world thanks to its safety, hospitality, and rich cultural, historical, and natural attractions.
The Minister also invited both domestic and international tourists to visit Cambodia during the green season from May to October to experience the country’s lush landscapes, vibrant culture, and various promotional offers on accommodation, food, and travel services.
As part of the campaign, the Ministry of Tourism promoted the “6 Musts” of Cambodia’s green season, encouraging visitors to explore natural scenery, stay in eco-friendly accommodations, taste local cuisine and seasonal fruits, discover heritage and eco-tourism sites, try outdoor and cultural experiences, and purchase local handicrafts and agricultural products.
The Ministry said the campaign forms part of broader efforts to promote Cambodia as an attractive and sustainable tourism destination throughout the year.
