Kampong Cham Province Celebrates 163rd World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day with Vow to ‘Leave No One Behind’
AKP Phnom Penh, May 12, 2026 --
The Kampong Cham Provincial Administration held a formal ceremony on Tuesday to mark the 163rd anniversary of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, rallying around the national theme: "Continuing to Join Forces for Humanity."
Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Santepundit Neth Savoeun, who also serves as Honorary Head of Kampong Cham Provincial Red Cross Branch, presided over the event.
In his opening address, Kampong Cham Provincial Governor and Provincial Red Cross Branch Head H.E. Un Chanda underscored the organisation’s vital role as an auxiliary to public authorities. He reaffirmed that provincial and district branches remain steadfast in easing the hardships of vulnerable citizens under all circumstances.
"Our mission is to ensure that no one is left behind," Governor H.E. Chanda declared, pledging adherence to the seven fundamental principles of the International Red Cross Movement. He stressed that the branch prioritises swift, impartial responses to the most marginalised communities.
For his part, Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Neth Savoeun praised the provincial branch’s notable achievements over the past year, particularly its proactive relief efforts for disaster victims and people living in precarious conditions. He also expressed deep gratitude to local philanthropists and volunteers, noting that their personal financial contributions are essential to sustaining the CRC’s humanitarian work and enhancing the nation’s international standing.
