Minister of Environment Urges Investors to Embrace Green Growth and ESG Standards

H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment, has strongly urged and encouraged all factory owners, enterprises, and investors in Cambodia to adopt green investment practices and implement ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles to ensure environmentally friendly economic growth.
In a visit to the D'LUXE INTERNATIONAL Co., Ltd. bag factory on May 4, H.E. Minister said that supporting and encouraging national and international investors in line with this green investment is to combat climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Green economic development by creating new job opportunities and ensuring economic growth that does not destroy natural resources for future generations, he added.
In addition, it teaches investors to be internally clean with a social responsibility focused on public health and adherence to national and international standards such as principles, he stated.
“Green investment is not just about making a profit, but it is an investment that is highly responsible for society and public health,” he said.
The main purpose of this green investment is to generate economic benefits while promoting environmental sustainability through the use of renewable energy to reduce fuel and coal consumption, added H.E. Minister.
H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth urged national and international investors to continue cooperating with the Royal Government to transform Cambodia into a leading green investment country in the region.
