The Ministry of the Royal Palace has announced that His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, is gradually recovering following two weeks of medical treatment in Beijing, People’s Republic of China.

According to a press release made public this morning, His Majesty the King has been under close monitoring and care at a Beijing hospital, receiving treatment from a team of highly experienced professors, doctors, and medical staff who have provided attentive and professional care.

Based on medical advice, His Majesty’s health has shown steady improvement. Doctors have recommended that the King be discharged from the hospital on May 1, 2026. However, His Majesty will continue to stay at the Royal Residence in Beijing and return to the hospital periodically for follow-up examinations, medication, and continued recovery.

The statement also conveyed the deep gratitude of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk to the Supreme Patriarchs of both Buddhist orders, monks, national leaders, officials at all levels, and all Cambodian citizens for their prayers and well wishes for the King’s swift recovery.
