The health of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, has shown gradual improvement after spending one week receiving treatment at a hospital in Beijing following major surgery.

The good news was shared on Monday morning by the Ministry of the Royal Palace in a press release.

The Ministry underlined that the King’s condition had improved after undergoing treatment by a team of highly skilled specialist doctors at Beijing Capital Hospital in China.

The statement said His Majesty continues to receive close medical supervision and post-surgery care from experienced doctors and nursing staff at the hospital.

According to the Ministry of the Royal Palace, the King has been receiving intravenous treatment, ultrasound examinations, pain relief medication, and medicine to assist recovery from the surgical procedure.

Doctors in Beijing have advised that the King remain in hospital for a further period to continue monitoring and ongoing care.

His Majesty the King and Her Majesty Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk expressed gratitude to Cambodia’s monks, national leaders, officials at all levels, and citizens who have continued to offer prayers and well wishes for the King’s recovery.
