Cambodia, New Zealand Reaffirm Strong Ties During Farewell Meeting with Outgoing Ambassador

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn received a farewell call from New Zealand Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Jonathan Kings on April 23 upon the completion of the envoy’s diplomatic tenure.
According to a press release issued on Friday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn congratulated Ambassador Kings on the successful conclusion of his mission and expressed appreciation for his contributions to strengthening and advancing bilateral relations and cooperation between Cambodia and New Zealand.
Ambassador Kings, in turn, expressed admiration for Cambodia’s continued development progress and the close cooperation between the two countries.
He also reaffirmed New Zealand’s ongoing support for Cambodia in a range of sectors, including education, agriculture, trade and investment, and development cooperation.
The ambassador highlighted New Zealand’s assistance to Cambodia’s demining efforts as an important area of partnership.
He further thanked Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and relevant Cambodian institutions for their close cooperation and support throughout his tenure.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn extended his best wishes to Ambassador Kings and reaffirmed the Ministry’s readiness to work closely with the incoming New Zealand ambassador to further deepen the longstanding partnership between the two nations.
