Senior Vietnamese Party Leader to Visit Cambodia to Boost Bilateral Cooperation

H.E. Tran Cam Tu, Member of the Politburo and Permanent Member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, will pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia from April 9 to 10, 2026, according to a press release issued by the Central Committee of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) on Monday.
The visit will be made at the invitation of Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, Vice President of the CPP and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the CPP Central Committee.
According to the statement, the visit holds significant diplomatic and political importance as it aims to follow up on the outcomes of the high-level meeting between the CPP and the CPV held on Feb. 6, 2026.
It also seeks to advance the implementation of agreements on delegation exchanges between the two parties, in line with the shared principles of “good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term stability.”
The visit is expected to further strengthen cooperation across a wide range of sectors, including diplomacy, national defence, security, economy, trade, investment, science and technology, digital transformation, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
During his stay, H.E. Tran Cam Tu is scheduled to hold courtesy meetings and working discussions with CPP's senior leaders, as well as with leaders of the Senate, the National Assembly, and the Royal Government of Cambodia.
