AKP Phnom Penh, March 17, 2026 -- Cambodia’s Minister of Women’s Affairs, H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi, visited displaced communities in Preah Vihear province on Monday, delivering humanitarian assistance to more than 450 families affected by border tensions.
The minister met 453 families sheltering at a safety site in Koulen district, where she distributed food supplies and essential items, according to an official statement.
The visit, held in conjunction with the 115th anniversary of International Women’s Day under the theme “Peace and Security for Women and Families,” focused on supporting vulnerable groups, including pregnant women, mothers with young children, healthcare workers, teachers and students.
H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and the First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, reaffirming the Royal Government’s commitment to addressing the situation through peaceful means.
“Cambodia adheres to a policy of leaving no one behind,” she said, adding that the Royal Government is working through legal and diplomatic channels to safeguard national sovereignty and enable displaced residents to return home safely.
She also praised provincial authorities and relevant agencies for coordinating relief efforts and establishing shelters to ensure the safety and basic needs of affected families, particularly women and girls.
The outreach underscores the Royal Government’s efforts to support civilians impacted by the tensions while maintaining stability and social welfare, the statement said.
