AKP Phnom Penh, March 03, 2026 --
Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Hun Many, Minister of Civil Service, on Tuesday inaugurated a large-scale mural in the capital depicting the tragedy of Thailand’s past incursions into Cambodian territory.
The artwork, titled “Art for Peace,” was unveiled in front of Wat Botum Vattey Pagoda and spans 5 metres in height and 35 metres in length. It was created by a group of artists.
Launched on Feb. 20, 2026, the mural project completed on Mar. 3. It will be open to the public, including international visitors, until May 3.
This second mural project – the first was exhibited in Siem Reap – portrays the suffering of civilians, destruction of infrastructure and damage to Cambodia’s cultural heritage resulting from Thai aggression.
The artwork also carries an appeal to the international community to seek justice and urges Thailand to withdraw its forces from Cambodian sovereign territory.
