India Opens Fully Funded ICCR Scholarships to Cambodian Students
AKP Phnom Penh, March 02, 2026 --
The Government of India is offering more than 40 fully funded scholarships to Cambodian students for undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies, the Embassy of India in Phnom Penh said.
The scholarships are being offered through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and cover a wide range of academic fields, including humanities, social sciences, engineering, technology, information technology, architecture, computer science, business administration, forensic science, management, agriculture, Buddhist studies, philosophy, arts and culture — including dance, music and yoga.
Students who have completed secondary school or its equivalent are eligible to apply for undergraduate programmes. Applicants for postgraduate studies must hold a bachelor’s degree, while doctoral candidates are required to have a master’s degree.
English proficiency is mandatory. Applicants must also possess a valid passport and submit certified academic transcripts and degree certificates, along with certified English translations if the original documents are not in English.
According to the embassy, the scholarships aim to expand educational opportunities for Cambodian students in India, which has emerged as a major destination for international students. India’s higher education system offers a broad spectrum of disciplines against the backdrop of the country’s cultural diversity and long academic tradition.
In recent years, dozens of Cambodian students have benefited from ICCR scholarships. Many have returned home to contribute to Cambodia’s economic and social development and to strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
Successful applicants will receive full tuition coverage, return economy-class airfare, a monthly living stipend, a book allowance and campus accommodation where available.
Applications must be submitted online via the ICCR A2A Scholarships Portal at https://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/ by April 15, 2026. Further information is available from the Education Wing of the Embassy of India in Phnom Penh at +855 23 210 912 or via email at edu.phnompenh@mea.gov.in.
