Cambodia is set to host its first major international food technology exhibition in late September 2026, aimed at accelerating the nation’s food processing industry, packaging capabilities, and global business matching.

The "Cambodia Food Tech Expo 2026" is scheduled to take place in Phnom Penh from Sept. 28-30, 2026. The initiative was discussed during a meeting on Feb. 24 between H.E. Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, and a delegation from Informa Markets led by Mr. Gerard Leeuwenburgh, Country General Manager for Malaysia and Cambodia.

Mr. Leeuwenburgh highlighted that the expo will serve as Cambodia’s premier international platform for the food processing and packaging sectors. He emphasised the company’s commitment to a long-term investment in the Kingdom, seeking to bridge the gap between the Royal Government policy and private sector growth through high-level trade events.

"We aim to align our exhibitions with the Royal Government’s policies to foster business growth," he stated, while requesting the Ministry's formal support to bolster confidence among international technology providers looking to enter the Cambodian market.

In response, Minister Hem Vanndy welcomed the initiative, noting that the expo aligns perfectly with Cambodia’s industrial modernisation agenda.

"The Ministry supports all platforms that facilitate technology transfer, empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and enhance the export competitiveness of our food processing industry," he said.

He further encouraged Informa Markets to showcase packaging solutions specifically tailored to the practical needs of local producers, particularly micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The Minister also briefed the delegation on upcoming national milestones, including the "4th National Science, Technology & Innovation Day" and "National MSME Day," which he noted would complement the goals of the planned exhibition.
