Cambodian, Bangladeshi Envoys to South Korea Strengthen Diplomatic Ties
AKP Phnom Penh, February 15, 2025 — The ambassadors of Cambodia and Bangladesh to the Republic of Korea have held talks aimed at deepening bilateral relations and enhancing coordination between their respective diplomatic missions.
According to the Royal Embassy of Cambodia, during a recent courtesy call, H.E. Khuon Phon Rattanak, Cambodia’s Ambassador to South Korea, met with H.E. Toufiq Islam Shatil, the Bangladeshi Ambassador, to discuss a strategic roadmap for mutual cooperation.
The discussions focused on several key areas of joint interest, including: Strengthening ties between the two embassies to streamline diplomatic missions within South Korea; Committing to mutual support in safeguarding the interests and welfare of the Cambodian and Bangladeshi expatriate communities living and working in the country; Exchanging perspectives on pressing regional and international issues of shared concern.
The meeting underscores a growing trend of "third-country diplomacy," where envoys from developing nations collaborate in major global hubs like Seoul to amplify their diplomatic influence and better serve their citizens abroad.
