APSARA Develops New Temple Circuits to Extend Tourist Stays
AKP Phnom Penh, February 10, 2026 -- APSARA National Authority has continued to develop temple circuits and new tourism products to enhance visitor experiences and encourage longer stays at the Angkor site.
Mr. Seng Sotheara, Director of the Department of Tourism Development and Culture, said on Feb. 9 that APSARA is studying and preparing multiple circuits by installing tourist facilities that provide information on temple history, attractions, and recommended visiting times.
“These efforts aim to help both national and international tourists better understand the historical and artistic value of the temples,” he said.
Studies for circuits in both small and grand circuits have already been completed at many temples, with only some facilities remaining to be installed before implementation, he added.
APSARA has previously launched circuits at Phnom Krom, Neak Poan, Bayon, Ta Prohm, and Angkor Wat. If facilities are ready, new circuits at Preah Khan and Ta Keo Temples may be announced soon.
APSARA is also studying circuits at Banteay Thom, Kbal Spean, and less-visited sites such as Chau Srei Vibol, the Roluos temple group, and Beng Mealea.
These developments aim to diversify tourism options and attract visitors who are returning to Angkor for a second or third visit.
