The private sector has been a key driver of Cambodia’s trade expansion and overall economic growth, Minister of Commerce H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul said, stressing its growing role in supporting the country’s deepening integration into regional and global markets.

H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul made the remarks while presiding over the closing ceremony of the Annual Meeting of the Executive Board of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, Reviewing 2025 Performance and Outlining the Work Direction for 2026 on Jan. 28, 2026 at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre, Phnom Penh. 
Addressing the function, she highly commended the leadership and members of the CCC for their strong commitment and effective cooperation, which she said had led to many significant achievements in 2025.

“The private sector has significantly contributed to boosting Cambodia's trade and driving national economic growth by increasing investment, diversifying exports and imports, enhancing competitiveness, and increasing participation in regional and global value and supply chains,” H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul said. 

These efforts were fully in line with the Royal Government’s policy to deepen economic integration, particularly through continued negotiations to open new potential markets at both bilateral and multilateral levels, she added. 

The Minister also highlighted the Royal Government’s ongoing efforts to improve the business and investment environment and diversify export-import markets under the approach of “strengthening existing markets and expanding new markets”. 

Meanwhile, Neak Oknha Kith Meng, President of CCC, reaffirmed the private sector’s commitment to close cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce.

“The private sector is ready to work closely with the Ministry of Commerce to ensure that the regulatory environment remains competitive and transparent,” he said. “We must go beyond conventional methods. The CCC will prioritise supporting members in adopting digital technology so that entrepreneurs, from Phnom Penh to the provinces, can compete in the borderless digital market.”
