Cambodia, Malaysia Promote Cambodian Workers’ Rights in Malaysia
AKP Phnom Penh, January, 28, 2026 --
Cambodia and Malaysia have reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen cooperation in promoting and protecting the rights and benefits of Cambodian workers living and working in Malaysia.
The commitment was highlighted during the 2nd Joint Working Group Meeting, held in Siem Reap province on Jan. 26-27, co-chaired by H.E. Theang Seangveng, Director General of Labour at the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, and H.E. Mrs. Rafea'ah binti Nahar, Secretary General of the Ministry of Human Resources of Malaysia.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged information on updated policies, laws, and regulations related to the management of migrant workers.
The two sides also signed the meeting’s minutes, which included agreements to further strengthen cooperation on the recruitment, management, and reception of Cambodian workers in Malaysia.
