Angkor Ultra Trail Promotes Cambodia’s Cultural Heritage and Tourism
AKP Phnom Penh, January 24, 2026 —
The 9th edition of the Angkor Ultra Trail 2026 took place on Jan. 24, drawing 1,740 participants from 52 countries, marking a significant event welcoming both national and international tourists to the magnificent Angkor region.
The event was organised with the aim of promoting tourism in Siem Reap province, particularly the Angkor area, by enhancing its international visibility and attracting more visitors to Cambodia, while also supporting various humanitarian activities.
Speaking at the Angkor Ultra Trail 2026, H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, said the event vividly reflects the spirit and passion for sports, as well as an appreciation of culture and the values of peace.
The event also demonstrates that the Kingdom of Cambodia continues to thrive under an umbrella of peace, under the leadership of the Head of the Royal Government, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
“Cambodia continues to maintain peace, political stability, and comprehensive development across all sectors, and is able to ensure safety and security for foreign investors as well as domestic and international tourists at all times,” he said.
The 9th Angkor Ultra Trail 2026 featured eight race categories, including 100 kilometres, 64 kilometres, 42 kilometres, 32 kilometres, 18 kilometres (three categories), and 8 kilometres.
The event was organised by Phoenix Voyages Tourism Company in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, the APSARA National Authority, the Siem Reap Provincial Administration, and other sponsoring partners.
