Cambodia’s First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet travelled to Kampot province to pay a solemn tribute to soldiers who sacrificed their flesh and blood in defence of Cambodia’s territorial integrity, underlining a renewed state commitment to military families.

Representing the nation’s top leadership, Dr. Pich Chanmony delivered personal condolences from Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Cambodian Red Cross President Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, and Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet. 

During her visit to the bereaved families, she provided financial grants and essential provisions, emphasising that the state would not abandon those who lost breadwinners in service to the country.

The First Lady also extended her outreach to the families of active-duty personnel, visiting the relatives of soldiers currently stationed at the border to provide welfare support and ensure their stability during deployments.

"The courage of our soldiers in defending sovereign territory is the foundation of Cambodia's peace," Dr. Pich Chanmony stated. "Their sacrifice is etched in the heart of the nation."

Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet has recently rolled out a multi-sectoral policy aimed at stabilising the lives of fallen and active soldiers' families through: Targeted debt relief and credit renegotiation for frontline personnel; Full scholarships for the children of deceased veterans to pursue university degrees; Job creation initiatives and the establishment of a dedicated military welfare fund; Ongoing efforts to clear unexploded ordnance (UXO) and develop infrastructure to support the permanent settlement of civilian populations in former conflict zones.
