Business Events Set to Boost Cashew Nut Exports
AKP Phnom Penh, January 23, 2026 -- The Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) will organise two main business events in February and March with an aim to boost export of Cambodia’s cashew nuts to China and Japan.
In February, CAC plans to organise a B2B matching event in Phnom Penh between Cambodian traders and 10 Chinese companies interested in purchasing raw cashew nuts and cashew shells.
This event will be held in collaboration with the Chinese-Cambodian Industrial Economic Promotion Association.
Another business event will take place in Phnom Penh in March, bringing together CAC members and Japanese companies for direct negotiations and partnership discussions.
The initiative, organised in cooperation with the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), aims to connect Cambodian cashew processors directly with Japanese buyers, with a particular focus on expanding exports of Cambodian cashew kernels to the Japanese market.
Under the programme, around 40 Cambodian cashew processing companies are expected to meet with approximately 20 Japanese firms that have expressed strong interest in sourcing cashew kernels from Cambodia.
The upcoming mission follows a series of discussions held in November 2025, after which the visit by Japanese companies was formally confirmed.
The Japanese delegation is scheduled to visit CAC facilities in Kampong Thom province on the afternoon of Mar. 9.
The visit will include field trips to local cashew operations, offering Japanese buyers a closer look at Cambodia’s production capacity, processing standards and supply chain.
In 2025, Cambodia exported more than 1 million tonnes of unprocessed cashew nuts, generating over US$1.5 billion in revenue, according to CAC report.
