AKP Phnom Penh, January 12, 2026 --

A delegation representing Cambodia’s National Assembly, together with the BELTEI Charity Foundation, has delivered humanitarian assistance to frontline troops and 300 displaced families in the northern province of Oddar Meanchey, officials said.

The delegation, led by H.E. Ms. Nin Saphon, Chairwoman of the National Assembly’s Ninth Commission, and Mr. Ly Chheng, Vice-Chair of the commission and founder and chief executive of BELTEI Group, conveyed donations on behalf of National Assembly President Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary. 

The aid was distributed to soldiers, displaced civilians, medical teams and temporary schools at a security shelter located at Bat Thkao pagoda, Oddar Meanchey.

The handover ceremony, held on Jan. 11, was hosted by Oddar Meanchey Governor H.E. Mean Chanyada, with participation from local officials, commission staff and representatives of BELTEI Group, including teachers and students.

Governor Mean Chanyada briefed the delegation on the province’s overall situation, including the impact of cross-border hostilities and efforts by local authorities to manage and accommodate displaced residents in safe conditions. He thanked the National Assembly, its Ninth Commission and BELTEI Charity for the support, saying provincial authorities were working to provide shelter, food, clean water and health services to affected families.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Ly Chheng expressed appreciation for the sacrifices made by frontline soldiers and extended sympathy to displaced families. He said members of parliament remained attentive to the welfare of troops and civilians amid current difficulties, adding that national unity was critical during the period.

H.E. Ms. Nin Saphon conveyed a message from National Assembly President Samdech Khuon Sudary, expressing concern for the wellbeing of soldiers and their families and paying tribute to their role in safeguarding national sovereignty and public security. She also urged the public to maintain confidence in the country’s top leadership.

The delegation later visited medical staff and a temporary school at Bat Thkao pagoda, where 473 students from kindergarten to Grade 9 are currently studying. They also toured a vegetable garden for displaced families, an initiative launched to support food security.

According to officials, the aid package for frontline troops included 70 million Riels or roughly (US$17,500) in cash, six tonnes of rice, canned fish, instant noodles, drinking water, preserved food, winter jackets, medical supplies and other necessities. Each of the 300 displaced families received cash assistance of 50,000 Riels (US$12.50), 10 kilogrammes of rice, drinking water and essential household items.
