Cambodian Senate Leader Urges Public Confidence in Royal Government Amid Border Dispute

Cambodia’s First Vice-President of the Senate, Ouch Borith, on Friday urged the public to maintain confidence in the Royal Government’s leadership as it works to protect national sovereignty and resolve border issues with Thailand peacefully.
Speaking during a visit to displaced families in Kampong Cham province, H.E. Ouch Borith said the Royal Government, under the leadership of Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, was taking measures in line with international law, the United Nations Charter and ASEAN principles to safeguard territorial integrity and ensure long-term peace and development.
He made the remarks while leading a Senate delegation to Srey Santhor district, where assistance on behalf of Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen was distributed to 353 displaced families, including four pregnant women and nearly 300 schoolchildren.
H.E. Ouch Borith also conveyed messages of concern from Samdech Techo Hun Sen, his spouse Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, Prime Minister Hun Manet and his spouse Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet to frontline soldiers stationed along the border and to displaced civilians sheltering in the district.
He said Cambodia’s leaders continued to closely monitor the welfare of soldiers, their families and citizens nationwide, and called on displaced residents to place their trust in the Royal Government’s ongoing support.
