Cambodia Apprises Diplomatic Corps and UN Agencies on Thai Military’s Resumed Encroachment Activities

Deputy Prime Minister H.E. PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, conducted here on Jan. 6 a diplomatic briefing on the latest developments in the Cambodia-Thailand border situation for Heads of Diplomatic Missions and Representatives of International Organisations in Phnom Penh, totaling 33 missions with 55 participants.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Deputy Prime Minister apprised the meeting of the main outcomes of the Special ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Kuala Lumpur of Dec. 22, 2025, the 3rd Special General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting of Dec. 27, 2025, and the Trilateral Meeting between Cambodia-Thailand-China in Yunnan Province, China, of Dec. 29, 2025, to promote the full and effective implementation of the ceasefire.
H.E. Deputy Prime Minister expressed his deep concern over Thai armed forces’ resumed encroachment activities within Cambodia’s territory and sovereignty in four provinces of Banteay Meanchey, Pursat, Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey.
H.E. Deputy Prime Minister reiterated that Cambodia is fully committed to upholding the ceasefire and resolving disputes peacefully, in accordance with international law, the UN Charter, and the ASEAN Charter, and to strictly adhering to the existing agreements between the two countries.
