AKP Phnom Penh, January 06, 2026 -- H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, received here on Jan. 6 H.E. Vivian Loss Sanmartin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Kingdom of Cambodia, to discuss the strengthening of economic cooperation.
During this significant meeting, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister and H.E. Ambassador engaged in a dynamic discussion on the promotion and expansion of bilateral trade volume to reflect the actual potential of both nations.
The priority sectors discussed included: (1) Agriculture and Agro-industry, focusing on increasing the import-export of agricultural products and sharing cultivation techniques, (2) Food Processing Industry: by attracting highly experienced Brazilian investors to invest in Cambodia to serve both domestic and international markets; and (3) Electrical and Electronics Industry, by exploring opportunities to establish production chains between the two regions.
Furthermore, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister and the Ambassador deliberated on the organisation of an Investment Roadshow to Brazil.
This mission is expected to serve as a vital investment "door-knocking" platform to promote investment opportunities and the various incentives offered by the Royal Government of Cambodia under the new Law on Investment, foster direct business-to-business (B2B) linkages between the two countries, and highlight Cambodia’s strategic role as a major gateway to the ASEAN and Asia-Pacific markets.
