Cambodian Lawmaker Welcomes Returning Displaced Persons, Pledges Royal Government Support
AKP Phnom Penh, January 06, 2026 --
H.E. Ke Kim Yan, a Member of National Assembly for Banteay Meanchey Constituency and Member of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King, led a high-level delegation to Svay Chek district on Monday to oversee the reintegration of displaced citizens returning to their homes.
During the visit, H.E. Ke Kim Yan distributed essential food supplies and aid packages, while delivering messages of support from the country’s top leadership, including Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, National Assembly President Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, and Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet.
The lawmaker emphasised the Royal Government’s commitment to ensuring that no citizen is left behind, framing the safe return of the residents as a result of national stability and effective local governance.
"The Royal Government will never abandon you, regardless of the circumstances," H.E. Ke Kim Yan told the gathered residents. "Your return today is a testament to your trust in the peace and the administrative management provided by the authorities."
H.E. Ke Kim Yan also used the occasion to urge the public to continue their support for Prime Minister Hun Manet’s administration. He characterised peace as the "sole foundation" for family and national prosperity, encouraging returnees to focus on rebuilding their livelihoods and agricultural production with the support of local officials.
The mission is part of a broader effort by Cambodian officials to maintain direct engagement with local communities and reinforce social stability in the border provinces.
