AKP Phnom Penh, January 05, 2026 --

Senior officials and staff of the General Secretariat of the National Assembly devoted their weekend and New Year holiday period to actively pack, load, and dispatch rice and essential supplies in support of frontline troops and displaced civilians.

The effort, part of the ongoing "Khmer Family Solidarity" initiative, took place on Sunday, Jan. 4. According to a release on the National Assembly's social media, leadership and civil servants worked diligently to prepare packages containing food, utilities, and consumer goods. 

These items were donated by Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, for onward delivery to support heroes on the frontlines and displaced citizens.

Since July 2025, donors and officials of the Secretariat, members of the National Assembly, advisors, and assistants to the Assembly President have contributed significant funds, materials, and manpower. 

This mobilisation responds to calls from the Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, and Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, for steadfast rear support to the frontline during a difficult period of national challenges.

The National Assembly officials stated their humanitarian actions, alongside the broader Khmer family, are a response to the immense sacrifices made by troops bravely defending territorial integrity on the front lines.

Samdech Khuon Sudary emphasised that this humanitarian drive reflects the spirit of solidarity and patriotism, uniting all Cambodians in support of their compatriots and the Royal Government in all circumstances. She expressed profound gratitude to all leadership, parliament members, officials, and donors who contributed resources, effort, and time to this major solidarity effort, stressing that "unity is Cambodia’s victory."

It was noted that the charitable gifts from the National Assembly President, members of parliament, and those received by the Assembly have been distributed to provincial administrations along the Cambodian-Thai border. These include the provinces of Preah Vihear, Oddar Meanchey, Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Pursat, and Koh Kong, for further distribution to troops and displaced people. 

Additional funds and materials have been allocated for wounded soldiers receiving hospital treatment and for the families of fallen heroes.

The National Assembly continues to receive charitable donations and will distribute all contributions according to needs and objectives, aiming to consistently foster warmth and connection between the frontline and the rear.

Simultaneously, the National Assembly President thanked all citizens for their trust in the nation's leadership under Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, and all Cambodian leaders. 

She commended their commitment to resolving border issues with neighbouring countries peacefully, utilising international and bilateral mechanisms, and striving to protect territorial integrity without losing "a single millimetre."
