Cambodia to Hold Nationwide Prayer for Happiness and Peace Tomorrow

A religious ceremony will be held across all 25 provinces and the capital on the afternoon of Dec. 29 to pray for happiness and peace in Cambodia.
According to the organisers, in addition to praying for peace, the event, held on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of Peace Day, aims to strengthen the spirit of Khmer solidarity and unity, enhance public support for and trust in the Royal Government and the armed forces, promote a peaceful and non-violent spirit in the pursuit of peace, and honour heroic soldiers while paying tribute to fallen combatants and civilians.
The programme will include chanting, meditation, spreading of Metta (loving-kindness), candle-lighting ceremony, and so on.
In the provinces, the event will be organised at local pagodas, while in Phnom Penh it will take place at Botum Vattey Pagoda in Sangkat Chaktomuk, Khan Daun Penh, and at the Win-Win Memorial in Sangkat Prek Tasek, Khan Chroy Changvar.
Each prayer ceremony is expected to attract thousands of Buddhist monks, devotees, and members of the general public.
