Two More Civilians Injured, and Displaced People Continue to Increase
AKP Phnom Penh, December 26, 2025 -- Two more civilians have been reported injured by the Ministry of Interior, after the Thai military invasion intensively attacked civilian residential areas in Banteay Meanchey province today.
The civilian death toll stood at 30, but the number of injured rose to 90, while the total number of displaced people reached some 646,000, including about 337,000 women and more than 205,000 children, the Ministry stated in a press release issued this afternoon.
Thai forces are getting more aggressive and indiscriminate. Since Dec. 7, they renewed their assaults on Cambodian territory, expanding operations deep into multiple locations across the country. These operations have involved the use of heavy weaponry, including F-16, Gripen, and T-50TH fighter jets, cluster bombs, artillery, tanks, and toxic gas. The strikes have resulted in significant civilian casualties and widespread damage to homes, sacred sites, ancient temples, schools, health centers, and other civilian infrastructure. Cambodia was ultimately compelled to respond in self-defence to protect its territorial integrity after exercising more than 24 hours of maximum restraint.
