MLVT Condemns Thai Military Aggression and Border Violations
AKP Phnom Penh, December 25, 2025 -- The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MLVT) has strongly condemned what it described as Thailand’s aggressive war and repeated military violations of Cambodia’s sovereignty, particularly along the Cambodia-Thailand border.
According to the statement released on Dec. 24, the leadership and civil servants at all levels of the ministry expressed their firm and unequivocal condemnation of the brutal and inhumane acts carried out by the Thai military.
The ministry said these actions included continued attacks on innocent Cambodian civilians in border provinces since the afternoon of Dec. 7, 2025.
“The Thai aggression, involving the indiscriminate and violent use of both light and heavy weapons without regard for targets, has resulted in injuries to Cambodian civilians, the destruction of numerous homes, and the forced displacement of students, children, the elderly and families seeking immediate temporary safety,” the statement said.
The ministry further accused Thailand of repeatedly violating the ceasefire agreement and the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Declaration on peace agreement, which was signed by the Prime Ministers of both countries in the presence of U.S. President Donald Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister H.E. Anwar Ibrahim in his capacity as the rotating ASEAN Chair.
The MLVT also called on the international community to strongly condemn Thailand’s repeated violations of the peace agreement and what it described as unlawful actions.
“The Thai side must take full responsibility for these aggressive acts and to immediately cease all hostilities that threaten peace and stability in the region,” it stated.
The ministry emphasised the importance of adhering to peaceful means of dispute resolution in line with international law, existing treaties, conventions and agreements, while rejecting the use of armed forces in pursuit of a just and lasting solution.
