Thai Incursions Kill 30 Cambodian Civilians, Says Information Minister
AKP Phnom Penh, December 24, 2025 -- As of the evening of Dec. 24, a total of 30 innocent Cambodian civilians have been killed by Thailand’s brutal and indiscriminate attacks.
These figures were released by H.E. Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information, noting that the number of injured has risen to 87.
According to the Ministry of Interior, more than 630,000 people had been forced to flee their homes for safety by 6:00 p.m. today. This displaced population includes nearly 332,000 women and over 202,000 children.
Since Dec. 7, the Thai military has renewed its assaults on Cambodian territory, expanding operations deep into multiple locations across the country. These operations have involved the use of heavy weaponry, including F-16 and T-50TH fighter jets, cluster bombs, artillery, tanks, and toxic gas. The strikes have resulted in significant civilian casualties and widespread damage to homes, sacred sites, ancient temples, schools, health centres and many other civilian infrastructure. Cambodia was ultimately compelled to respond in self-defence to protect its territorial integrity after exercising more than 24 hours of maximum restraint.
