Thai military forces continued their attacks on civilian areas in Poipet city, Banteay Meanchey province, using artillery fire this evening.

The Ministry of National Defence reported that at 8:16 p.m., the Thai military fired two artillery shells into the Sangkat O’Russey of Poipet city.

As of now, the situation has returned to calm, it said, advising citizens to rely on information from official sources and to cooperate with and comply with the instructions of local authorities.

 “The aforementioned brutal actions constitute an indiscriminate attack by the Thai military and represent a serious violation of international humanitarian law,” the Ministry underlined.
